Vice President, Supplier Management
Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) -- the oldest (founded in 1919) and most prestigious industry association representing aerospace manufacturers -- is seeking a Vice President, Supplier Management, with strong leadership skills and knowledge of the aerospace industry that can head up an "association within an association". Incumbent reports to the President and CEO of AIA.
The incumbent has primary responsibility for effectively planning and directing the programs undertaken to improve the relationship between aerospace suppliers and their customers; for the projects, initiatives, working groups, and committees directed by an Executive Committee; is the central resource person for industry supply base information, and as such responds to inquiries from member companies, other councils and committees, government officials, publications and the public; has the responsibility for the planning and execution of three major meetings a year and meetings of an Executive Committee. The incumbent supports AIA strategic planning initiatives and the resulting actions to obtain new members and to retain current membership, and manages employees responsible for the international market place and legislative issues and initiatives concerning the industry supply base.
Reqs: Bachelor's degree in engineering and industrial or business management, masters preferred. Experience of 10+ years in the fields of aerospace, its business functions and its supply base desired. Demonstrated capability to plan and facilitate large meetings, drive outcomes, and remain focused on goals and objectives of the organization.
