AIA established the Supplier Management Council (SMC) to improve the relationship between suppliers and customers. The council recognizes that many suppliers serve numerous customers that compete and team with one another. The SMC is the forum where customers (AIA Regular Members) and suppliers (AIA Associate Members) come together to resolve problems in doing business. By resolving the challenges and helping educate companies in the aerospace and defense supply base, the aerospace industry remains a healthy, vibrant, and cutting edge component of the U.S. national economy.
